The security officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and the facility through patrolling assigned areas, enforcing laws and policies, and performing safety checks. Duties also include assisting staff with disturbances, providing escorts, monitoring surveillance, handling complaints, and managing traffic and parking control.

Requirements summary

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged and six months of experience in a security-Related field, along with a valid driver’s license and a nys security guard certificate (Or ability to obtain one within three months). Essential competencies include excellent communication, knowledge of law enforcement and crowd control procedures, and proficiency with common computer software.
