Head Start Assistant Teacher

The assistant teacher supports the lead teacher in implementing quality, individualized early childhood education by facilitating developmentally appropriate practices in an inclusive classroom setting. This involves assisting with planning and executing activities, maintaining classroom safety and ratios, and ensuring parental involvement in the program.

Candidates must possess a minimum of a childhood development associate credential (Cda) with the preschool endorsement, tcc, tcd, or an equivalent higher credential in early childhood education or development, and must be at least eighteen years old. Required abilities include strong communication skills, cultural familiarity, and the physical capacity to manage and care for young children.
