Core responsibilities
The counselor is responsible for supervising youth activities, providing a safe and structured therapeutic environment, and ensuring adherence to program schedules and participation in daily activities. This includes offering daily support, modeling positive behavior, and helping youth develop essential life skills and accountability.
Requirements summary
A minimum of a high school diploma or ged is required, along with at least one year of relevant experience working with youth in detention centers or comparable settings, or an associate's degree in a related human services field. Candidates must also successfully complete required training, including therapeutic crisis intervention (Tci) certification, first aid/Cpr, and medication administration.
