The assistant teacher will support the Lead Teacher by setting up and implementing daily curriculum designed to promote the social, cultural, educational, physical, and emotional growth of toddlers. Key duties include interacting professionally with parents and children, ensuring child safety, making observations, maintaining equipment, and assisting with feeding and toileting.
Candidates must meet educational and experience qualifications established by DEEC, NAEYC, and QRIS, and be at least 18 years old. Required certifications include current CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention, with previous experience working with children, especially those with trauma, being preferred.

Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, the assistant Preschool Teacher will assist the classroom teacher in setting up and implementing daily curriculum which promotes, social, cultural, education, physical and emotional growth. Additional responsibilities includes performing housekeeping chores as necessary and providing a quality experience to children that focuses on the YMCA
Has knowledge of and maintains NAEYC and DEEC standards. Assists classroom teacher in implementing daily lesson/activity plans to support a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Greets and interacts both with parents and children in a professional and friendly manner. Is cognizant of childrens' safety at all times. Makes and records observations of the children. Maintains classroom equipment. Change and feed children. Supervise outdoor play, handwashing, and toileting. attends and participates in family nights, staff meetings, staff trainings and YMCA special events. Additional duties as required and assigned by a supervisor to support the overall mission of the YMCA and to ensure the success of the Child Care Department.
Meets educational and experience qualifications established by DEEC, NAEYC, and QRIS. At least 18 years of age.. Must obtain, and keep current, certification in CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred. Experience working with children with trauma preferred Is flexible with schedule changes Schedule: Please tell us your availability! Scheduled shifts will take place any time between Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 am and 5:30 pm.
Job Type: Part-Time
