Core responsibilities
The asl specialist will be responsible for providing asl instruction, conducting proficiency evaluations for students and staff, tracking relevant data, and developing innovative asl experiences and programs. Duties also include creating and maintaining on-Site instruction, developing online modules, mentoring new staff, and promoting asl proficiency through ongoing programming.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess native or near-Native fluency in asl, along with a background in asl linguistics and deaf studies, including at least two years of teaching asl/Deaf culture at the high school or college level. Strong organizational, computer skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups are essential.
