Core responsibilities

The teacher will instruct deaf and hard of hearing students under the supervision of the departmental principal, providing specially designed instruction across academic and/Or vocational subjects. Primary duties include preparing materials, writing reports, assisting with ieps, evaluating student performance, and implementing behavior intervention plans using an asl/English bilingual approach.

Requirements summary

Candidates must be able to work collaboratively, plan effective lessons, differentiate instruction, and manage student behavior effectively. A master’s degree in education of the deaf or special education, along with appropriate state of ct teacher certification (057 and/Or 065 preferred), is required, along with the ability or willingness to learn american sign language (Asl).
