Title

Instructor, Business - 9/10 Month (Term)

Position Summary

This position is a full-time faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction in Business.

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
  • Teach courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
  • Other instructional delivery modes, such as online, hybrid or web-enhanced, taught from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location, may be assigned based on operational needs, as determined by the College.
  • Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester and hold office hours.
  • Work with Course Leads, Program Coordinator, and Dean to ensure consistent student experiences.
  • Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide accurate and updated course materials to students.
  • This position may involve serving as a Course Lead and participating in institutional effectiveness activities, which may include assessing, monitoring, and evaluating course and program outcomes; making improvements to assigned discipline courses; assisting the Program Coordinator with textbook selection; participating in course reviews and audits; and supporting the college’s compliance with academic standards.
  • Engage in program accreditation activities.
  • Submit updated and accurate syllabi prior to the first day of class.
  • Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox.
  • Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours, excluding weekends.
  • Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return questionnaires and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
  • Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.
  • Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success.
  • Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities.
  • Actively participate on committees within the School of Business and Professional Studies and college-wide committees.
