The Preschool VPK Teacher is responsible for the daily management of the classroom, including organizing, supervising, and ensuring the safety of the children under their care. This involves planning and implementing programs according to YMCA philosophy, state standards, and VPK program policies.
Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience leading a VPK classroom and possess current training/certifications required by oversight bodies, including a State-approved CPR/AED certification obtained within 30 days of hire. Required documentation includes DCF training transcript with VPK credentials, a 10-hour in-service training certificate, and either a CDA, FCCPC, or higher education in Early Childhood.

The Preschool VPK Teacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the classroom including the organization, supervision, and safety of the children in their group. Individuals in this position are responsible for planning, supervising, and implementing programs in accordance with policies, procedures, and philosophy and core values of the YMCA. The VPK teacher is responsible for implementing standards set by the state as well as following all policies and procedures set by the entities that oversee the VPK program.
