Substitute Teacher

The substitute teacher is responsible for assisting in the education and daily program of a head start or early head start classroom, including implementing program functions and ensuring child safety across all areas like the classroom and playground. Key duties involve assisting with educational experiences that build self-Worth, developing language arts skills, providing individual attention to children, and assisting with meal service and field trips.

Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or ged and preferably have two years of related experience in a preschool classroom setting. Essential requirements include the ability to communicate effectively with families with limited english proficiency, working knowledge of business english, computer literacy, reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and engage actively with children.
