Academic Teacher's Aide

The academic teacher's aide primarily assists the classroom instructor with daily instruction, including preparing materials, supervising students, and providing individualized support, especially for those with special needs. Key duties also involve classroom management, clerical tasks like grading and record maintenance, and ensuring student health and safety.

Candidates must possess proficiency in advanced microsoft office applications (Word, powerpoint, excel) and general computer literacy, along with knowledge of student testing practices and counseling for students with disabilities. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though an associate degree is preferred, along with one year of related experience and one year working with youth.
