Teacher Assistant

The primary role involves providing direct assistance to the classroom teacher in all daily routines, including implementing lesson plans and supervising classroom groups in the teacher's absence. The assistant must also work with individual children on specific goals and supervise aides during various programs like toileting and lunch.

Applicants must hold at least a high school diploma and be eligible for or possess a new york state level one teaching assistant certificate, with an expectation to pursue higher certification levels. Prior experience with developmentally disabled children in educational or recreational settings is preferred but not mandatory.
