Teacher Assistant

The teaching assistant will provide direct support to the classroom teacher in all daily routines, including implementing lesson plans and schedules, and supervising groups when the teacher is absent. Responsibilities also include working individually or in small groups with children on specific goals and supervising aides during procedures like toileting and lunch programs.

Applicants must possess at least a high school diploma and either hold or be eligible for a new york state level one (1) teaching assistant certificate, with an expectation to pursue higher certification levels. Prior experience with developmentally disabled children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred but not mandatory.
