Core responsibilities
The coding educator provides ongoing support and education to providers regarding proper documentation and coding for services, primarily through direct, in-Person assistance within the practice setting. This role involves building relationships, presenting training sessions, developing educational materials, and assisting with the investigation and monitoring of coding and charging activities.
Requirements summary
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with four years of experience in physician office coding and advanced knowledge of cpt-4, hcpcs, icd-10, and third-Party requirements. Candidates must possess computer skills, the ability to travel occasionally overnight, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
