Core responsibilities
The medical assistant is responsible for rendering nursing care in assigned areas, performing routine administrative and clinical tasks, and utilizing learned skills to safely implement primary preventative and therapeutic care for assigned patients and families. Key duties include accurate medication administration, performing venous blood draws, maintaining communication among the patient, staff, and provider, and assisting providers during examinations.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess national certification for medical assistants and current basic life support (Bls) certification. Completion of a medical assistant program with a diploma is preferred, along with training in diagnostic and treatment procedures.
