Special Education Teacher, Occupational Course of Study

The teacher coordinates and provides direct instructional programs for special education students, developing and implementing individual education programs (Ieps) based on diagnostic information. They implement specialized instruction, monitor student progress, manage classroom behavior, and collaborate with teams during iep meetings.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and hold or be eligible for a north carolina professional educator’s license in an exceptional children’s teaching area, excluding gifted education licenses. Essential knowledge includes instructional practices, curriculum standards, state/Federal policies, and proficiency in microsoft office and google apps.
