Seasonal Summer Instructor, Aquatics (3058)

The swim lesson instructor is responsible for the professional instruction of all swim lessons under the aquatics director and ensuring the safety of members by enforcing pool policies courteously and professionally. Essential functions include creating a nurturing environment, tracking participant progress, preparing lesson plans, and responding immediately to all emergency situations.

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old and possess mandatory certifications including current bls for the professional rescuer standard/Community first aid and emergency oxygen administration, along with the ymca swim lesson instructor certification or arc water safety instructor. Related experience instructing swim lessons or coaching aquatic programs is desired, along with proficiency in six swimming strokes and the ability to tread water for two minutes.
