Seasonal Summer Instructor, Aquatics (3056)

The swim lesson instructor is responsible for the professional instruction of all swim lessons under the aquatics director and ensuring the safety of members in the pool area by enforcing policies courteously. Essential functions include creating a welcoming environment, delivering instruction using the ymca program, tracking participant progress, and responding immediately to all emergency situations.

Candidates must be at least 16 years old and possess current certifications including bls for the professional rescuer/Community first aid and emergency oxygen administration, along with the ymca swim lesson instructor certification. Required skills include proficiency in six swim strokes, the ability to tread water for two minutes, and demonstrated calmness and efficiency in emergency situations.
