Seasonal Summer Instructor, Aquatics (3057)

The swim lesson instructor is responsible for the professional instruction of all swim lessons under the aquatics director and ensuring the safety of members by enforcing pool policies courteously and professionally. Essential functions include creating a nurturing environment, delivering instruction using the ymca program, tracking participant progress, and responding immediately to all emergency situations.

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old and possess mandatory certifications including bls/First aid, emergency oxygen administration, and the ymca swim lesson instructor certification (Or arc water safety instructor). Related experience instructing swim lessons or coaching aquatic programs is required, along with proficiency in six swimming strokes and the ability to tread water for two minutes.
