About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education / Diverse Learner Teacher to support students in grades 5–8 through a blend of push-in and pull-out services. You will manage an average caseload of approximately 20 students and provide targeted, skill-based instruction that helps students build confidence and make measurable growth. Most common student needs include Specific Learning Disability (SLD) and Developmental Delay (DD), with a strong focus on foundational academic skills in literacy and math. What You’ll Do Provide specialized instruction in small groups and targeted pull-out settings Deliver push-in support within general education classrooms to increase access and success Plan and implement interventions for reading fluency, reading comprehension, and foundational math Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations Track student progress using data and adjust instruction accordingly Communicate regularly with families and school teams to support student outcomes Maintain timely and compliant documentation Required Qualifications Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Special Education endorsement (or ability to obtain) Experience supporting students with learning needs (SLD/DD experience is a plus) Strong classroom collaboration skills and comfort working in both push-in and pull-out models Ability to plan targeted instruction and use data to drive interventions
