Job description

  • Temple Shir Tikva Early Learning Center (ELC) | Wayland, MA About Us Temple Shir Tikva’s Early Learning Center (ELC) is a play-based, Reggio-inspired early childhood program serving toddlers and preschoolers.

  • Our program emphasizes: Nature-based learning and outdoor exploration Child-led, inquiry-driven curriculum Strong social-emotional development A collaborative, team-oriented teaching culture We are proud to be a supportive, growth-focused school community where both new and experienced educators are mentored, valued, and encouraged to develop professionally.
  • Position Overview We are seeking Lead Teachers (Toddler & Preschool) for the 2025–2026 school year.
  • This is a full-time opportunity (35–40 hours/week) for educators who are: Key Responsibilities Lead a nurturing, engaging classroom environment Design and implement play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum Facilitate indoor and outdoor learning experiences Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development Build strong, responsive relationships with families and colleagues Collaborate with co-teachers and participate in team planning Maintain a safe, organized classroom aligned with licensing standards Engage in ongoing reflection and professional growth

Qualifications

EEC certification required (Massachusetts) or willing to obtain Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Experience in early childhood classrooms preferred Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning Excellent communication and collaboration skills Warm, dependable, and growth-oriented mindset Compensation & Benefits $26–$28/hour, based on experience and qualifications Health and dental insurance are partially employer-covered All federal, Jewish, and vacation weeks are paid time off Plus 9 paid days off Paid professional development A one-time pension fund contribution of $1,000 Discounted tuition for staff children (ages 18 months–5 years) A supportive supervisor who is deeply committed to educator development and coaching.
