Job description

Overview Ensures compliance for the Day programs in the areas of COMPASS,CQL and regulatory guidelines; Responsible for seeking out and scheduling community opportunities for Day Habilitation Individuals Responsible for maintaining excellent public relations with Community Sites.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Serves as program representative and liaison for CQL (Commission on Quality Leadership): Remains active and up to date in CQL certifications and trainings; Train personnel on CQL Philosophy trainings; conduct CQL interviews on program participants as needed; point person to schedule interviews, and all other CQL related events. Serves as program representative and liaison for COMPASS: attend agency-wide COMPASS meetings; train staff on COMPASS related information. Acts as Community Hub Site Co-Council Advisor and Facilitator. Attends Executive Council, CQL and SANYS Meetings. Maintains CHS Council and Bulletin Boards in Plainview/Freeport. Point person to schedule all COMPASS/ CQL and day program employee engagement related events. Maintains and writes the day Hab connections newsletter, monthly activity workbook, and writes the monthly update of all day Hab sites for or the monthly Day Hab report for the AHRC board of directors. Presents and distributes a monthly calendar of all Community Sites, Activities, and Events for prior submission/approval to direct supervisor and organizes a schedule for all hub site fundraisers in the day program. Submits Bi-Annual CHS Council report, takes pictures, and submits stories for the newsletter and community resource social media. Maintains a spread sheet of all community volunteer jobs for the program. Manages the spreadsheet, receipts, purchases for recreation grants through CR and submits updates to this department and attends the recreation events to ensure that these events run smoothly. The following will be divided among the activity developer department. Assists with One Stop Gift Shop- special events, holiday promotions, ordering merchandise, flyers, taking pictures for social media, and assisting with the keeping the online store current and up to date. Assists with the WFA program- developing job opportunities, promoting interactive days, create flyers. Assists with Prep Academy- develop curriculum for the classroom, ensure needed supplies are purchased, create power point programs, assist in the classroom, when needed. Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Director and/or Administration.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, Bachelor is preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have working knowledge of PowerPoint/Excel/Microsoft Word/Teams. Must have good presentation skills. Must be able to work independently. Qualified NYS Driver's license. Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities preferred.
