Job functions and responsibilities

Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment Maintain a clean, respectful, and orderly classroom, and follow classroom and school procedures as directed by the school Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards staff/administrators, students, parents, etc. Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Ensure the safety/confidentiality of students at all times Keep records on attendance, accident/incidents Leaves notes for the regular teacher at the end of the teaching day went Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student Implement and teach lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent teacher, or consult with principal or other responsible staff if lesson plan is not provided

Substitute positions are on an as-needed basis. Substitutes are not guaranteed a set schedule, minimum number of hours, or regular assignments. Work opportunities will be offered based on staffing needs and employee availability.
