Title: Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach

Job Summary

The Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for player development and assisting the head coach with team practice, all game preparations, and travel. Jackson State Community College Volleyball Program is looking for a very passionate and driven individual to come in and want to aid in building a very successful volleyball program.

  • Job Duties
  • Fostering an environment that supports and encourages student-athletes to be the best athlete, student, and person they can be. Aiding in giving student-athletes the best experience they can have.
  • Assisting in the recruitment of student athletes and maintaining the proper amount of student-athletes.
  • Living out and teaching the core values of Growth Mindset, Servant Leadership, Integrity, and Discipline.
  • Effective volleyball knowledge, skills, and teaching ability to aid in the development of a competitive and successful volleyball program.
  • Being knowledgeable and following all NJCAA, TCCAA, and Jackson State Community College athletic policies, protocols, eligibility requirements, and regulations.
  • Aiding in driving the team to and from all road games in a safe environment.
  • Assistant Coach must be present for all games and practices.
  • Performing other functions in connection with your position, as may be assigned by the Director of Athletics or Head Volleyball Coach.
  • Follow proper medical guidelines for injured student-athletes in accordance with team Athletic Trainer.
  • Assisting in the statistical reporting of team practices and games.
  • Assisting in travel planning, equipment maintenance, and facilities maintenance.
  • Assisting in putting together intentional and purposeful practice plans, film breakdown, and practice sessions.
  • Conducting yourself and the team in a manner that reflects a positive image for the Jackson State Community College Volleyball Program, Jackson Community, and College.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

● Associates Degree from an accredited college or university. ● Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations, NJCAA, and TCCAA regulations. ● Valid Driver's License. ● Prior coaching experience at the high school or college level. ● Playing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Pay Rate

$21.53/hour (Up to 29 hours/week)
