Salary

  • $40,000. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary Assistant coach for the varsity men’s soccer team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level. Essential Functions The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Coaching (45%25) Train varsity men’s soccer team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level. Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game plans. Maintain and increase knowledge of soccer training and coaching techniques. Supervise the training, development, and placement of staff personnel. Recruiting (25%25) Evaluate prospective student-athletes. Develop and maintain correspondence for prospective student-athletes. Schedule, coordinate and supervise official and unofficial visits of prospective student-athletes. Academics (15%25) Monitor academic performance of student-athletes. Counsel student-athletes. Ensure compliance with all UCCS and NCAA regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements. Scheduling (15%25) Assist head coach with planning and coordinating Division II schedule within NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and institutional guidelines.   • To be considered for this role you must have experience in soccer training and coaching techniques.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Must have coaching experience at the college or high school level.
  • Experience at the Division II level is highly desirable.
  • This position will need to understand, or have the ability to learn, the NCAA forms and compliance requirements.
  • The University of Colorado Colorado Springs has implemented a misconduct history check program with respect to final candidates for specific appointments.
  • The misconduct history check program is intended to allow UCCS to collect and review information about a candidate's conduct at their previous institutions, specifically conduct related to sexual misconduct, harassment, and/or discrimination – before making hiring decisions.
  • All final candidates to these appointments are required to complete an Authorization to Release Information and provide contact information for their previous institutions.
