As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in San Marino, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in San Marino, CA Schedule: 25 hours a month, 4 sessions a week for 1.25 hours Pay rate ranges from $25-$35 per hour Ideal Candidate: Fluent in both Mandarin and English (required) Experience supporting English Language Learners (ELL) or multilingual students Strong background in English language development, foundational literacy, and academic language instruction Experience teaching foundational math concepts while providing language supports Skilled in developing English vocabulary, reading comprehension, written communication, and language acquisition Experience supporting students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges Patient, encouraging, and able to scaffold instruction for students with limited English proficiency Comfortable using visual supports, modeling, repetition, and multisensory instructional strategies Strong lesson-planning skills with the ability to differentiate instruction based on language proficiency and academic needs Able to foster a positive, confidence-building learning environment that encourages communication and independence Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one instruction to strengthen English language development, including vocabulary, reading comprehension, and expressive and receptive language skills Teach foundational literacy skills through explicit instruction in phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, and English sentence development Support writing development by teaching grammar, organization, sentence structure, and written communication skills Reinforce foundational math concepts while providing appropriate language supports to ensure understanding Utilize Mandarin strategically to clarify concepts, bridge understanding, and support English language acquisition when appropriate Teach executive functioning skills, including organization, planning, time management, self-monitoring, and task completion strategies Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into instruction by promoting self-confidence, resilience, communication, and self-advocacy Use visual supports, repetition, modeling, and structured practice to reinforce academic and language skills Monitor academic and language progress and adjust instruction based on student performance and language development Create a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment that encourages active participation and long-term academic success Why Tutor Me Education?
