As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA Schedule: 25 hours per month, 1 session per week for 1-1.25 hrs Pay rate ranges from $25-$35 per hour Ideal Candidate: Experience providing specialized handwriting instruction to students with learning differences Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and IEPs Strong background in foundational literacy, early writing development, and foundational math instruction Knowledge of handwriting development, fine motor strategies, and multisensory handwriting instruction Patient, structured, and skilled at adapting instruction to individual learning needs Experience incorporating Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into academic instruction Comfortable collaborating with families and supporting goals aligned with Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy Able to develop engaging, individualized lesson plans that emphasize repetition, consistency, and skill mastery Strong behavior management and positive reinforcement skills Creative and able to incorporate student interests into instruction to increase motivation and engagement Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized one-on-one handwriting instruction to improve letter formation, spacing, sizing, legibility, pencil control, and overall written output Deliver individualized instruction in foundational literacy skills, including early reading, phonics, decoding, and written language development Reinforce foundational math concepts using structured, hands-on instructional strategies Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) throughout sessions to support self-regulation, communication, confidence, and appropriate classroom behaviors Utilize repetition, visual supports, and multisensory teaching techniques to reinforce learning and improve retention Support functional academic skills while promoting greater independence and self-advocacy Reinforce positive learning behaviors through consistent routines, encouragement, and positive behavior supports Incorporate the student's interests—including Legos, Five Nights at Freddy's, movies, Disneyland, and Legoland—into lessons to increase engagement and motivation Conduct both virtual academic instruction and in-person handwriting sessions as needed Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies based on ongoing observation and performance Collaborate with the family to reinforce learning strategies and complement existing Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and IEP goals Why Tutor Me Education?
