Core responsibilities
The career counselor is responsible for counseling students on personal, social development, vocational, and educational training aspects of center life, while also assisting them with continuing education or training and connecting them with necessary community services for school-To-Work transition. Counselors must also monitor student attendance, address conduct issues, and serve as counselor on duty on weekends rotationally.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree, including 15 semester hours in social sciences or a related area, along with one year of experience in a counseling capacity or related field; job corps experience is preferred. Employment is contingent upon passing a drug screen and a nationwide criminal background check, and a valid state driver's license is preferred.
