Core responsibilities
A friend will work intensively with eight children and their families as a positive adult role model, developing sustained, trusting relationships while nurturing strengths, teaching life and academic skills, and modeling responsible behavior. Core accountabilities include developing long-Term relationships, setting goals via a roadmap, providing enrichment, reinforcing academics, and linking families to necessary resources.
Requirements summary
Candidates must have an associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) plus two to three years of experience working or volunteering with children, with mentoring experience being a plus. Essential requirements include the ability to build trusting relationships, strong communication skills, independent work capability, and maintaining a valid driver's license and first aid/Cpr certification.
