The Assistant Professor is responsible for instructing students in the general education program and actively supports a learning-centered culture. Responsibilities include planning and implementing courses, evaluating student achievement, and participating in college operations.
Candidates must have a Master's Degree in a related field and 3-4 years of experience in education, with at least 2-3 years of teaching experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and evidence of professional competence in the subject matter are also required.
Participates in the planning and implementation of the course, and reviews and revises content as necessary. Selects audiovisual materials, references and other appropriate resources to facilitate learning. Prepares, administers and analyzes evaluation methods. Coordinates learning experience with appropriate clinical staff. Consults with area Department Chair. Attends course meetings. Presents in an organized manner. Develops presentations to encompass new concepts, principles, term and clinical application. Presents in an expressive manner encouraging student contributions. Uses a variety of teaching strategies. Implements ongoing assessment of student learning. Evaluates student achievement of expected learning behaviors. Provides verbal/written feedback. Supports college operations. Participates in systematic plans of evaluation. Participates in the advisory roll for student learning. Attends college functions. Supports college goals. Serves as a member of a committee, sub-committee or task force in addition to College Assembly. Attends college educational programs.
