Counselor

The counselor manages assigned student caseloads to deliver comprehensive case management, ensuring students acclimate to the job corps program, develop career goals, and receive necessary counseling to improve employability. Essential functions include conducting intakes, maintaining confidential files, leading evaluations, and monitoring student progress in academic and career technical training.

A minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree, which must include 15 semester hours of social services-Related instruction, along with one year of experience in counseling or a related field. Preferred qualifications include two years of experience in counseling or working with youth, and a valid driver's license is generally required unless waived.
