Sign Language Certified Medical Interpreter

Facilitates communication between hearing and deaf/Hard of hearing patients and health system staff. Conducts medical interpreting and performs various administrative tasks within the health system.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for a bachelor's degree. Completion of an accredited interpreter training program and certification from the virginia department for the deaf and hard of hearing is also required.
