Teacher assistant

The teacher assistant will provide instruction and instructional support to students under the direction of the teacher, carrying out assigned individualized educational and therapeutic programs both inside and outside the classroom. Responsibilities also include assisting the teacher in maintaining a positive, safe environment, managing student interactions, and supporting program implementation, including in the teacher's absence.

A minimum qualification is a high school diploma, ged, or equivalent, along with the required nys teacher assistant certification or actively working towards it by having passed the nys assessment of teaching assistant test (Nysatas). Candidates must also possess the ability to read, write, speak, and understand english, including interpreting safety rules and policy manuals.
