Core responsibilities
The career counselor is primarily responsible for delivering comprehensive counseling services to students covering personal, social development, career employment, and behavior, including providing individual and group counseling and crisis intervention. Duties involve managing a caseload, conducting structured counseling sessions, collaborating with staff on student progress, and ensuring students develop personal career development plans (Pcdps).
Requirements summary
Successful candidates must possess a bachelor's degree which includes 15 semester hours of social services-Related instruction, along with one year of experience in counseling or a related field. Proficiency in advanced microsoft office applications and strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required to effectively motivate and counsel students.
