Core responsibilities

The lecturer will be responsible for teaching a three-Credit hour first-Year seminar (Fys) core area course during the fall 2026 semester, which includes creating the syllabus, grading coursework, and implementing required first-Year experience lessons. Responsibilities also involve attending mandatory faculty trainings and working collaboratively with the assigned peer advocate leader (Pal) while holding required one-On-One meetings with each enrolled student.

Requirements summary

Minimum qualifications require applicants to have completed a master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, teaching, or a related field, along with teaching experience at an accredited higher education institution for at least one semester or 5+ years in k-12. Preferred qualifications include current cu denver employment, prior fye teaching experience, and expertise in women and gender studies and/Or race and ethnicity research.
