Educational Assistant

The primary role involves providing teaching assistance under the direction of a licensed teacher, which includes setting up activities, preparing materials, and working directly with students during class time. Responsibilities also extend to monitoring students in common areas, assisting with basic educational skills, and performing necessary clerical tasks to support teaching activities.

A high school diploma or ged is required, along with basic technology skills, and candidates must meet one of three educational benchmarks: 48 semester hours, an associate’s degree or higher, or a passing score on the praxis for parapro exam. One year of experience working with children is preferred, and fluency in spanish is required for esol program positions.
