Substitute Teacher

The substitute teacher will assist in the education and daily program of a head start or early head start classroom, including implementing program functions and ensuring child safety across all areas like the classroom and playground. Key duties involve providing supportive services in child abuse/Neglect cases, assisting with educational experiences, ensuring individual attention for all children, and maintaining clean and neat areas.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged and preferably have two years of related experience in a preschool classroom setting. Essential requirements include the ability to communicate effectively with families with limited english proficiency, working knowledge of business english, computer literacy, reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and engage actively with children.
