Requires an active, unrestricted Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS certification. Experience with pediatric patients and ventilator/tracheostomy care is strongly preferred.
Direct access to a clinical provider (you + dependents) Discounted care through HealthBar's network Medical insurance (with HSA option) Paid Time Off Biannual profit sharing Employee 401(k) contributions Short- and long-term disability & life insurance Licensure & certification renewal support What Your Days Look Like You’ll provide nursing support within the school setting, including: Providing 1:1 nursing care for a student with complex respiratory needs throughout the school day Monitoring health status and responding to changes in condition Managing tracheostomy and ventilator-related care according to physician orders and care plans Administering medications and treatments as prescribed Assessing and responding to illness, injuries, or medical emergencies during the school day Maintaining accurate health records and documenting care provided Collaborating with teachers, administrators, therapists, and families to support the student’s health and educational goals Supporting safe participation in classroom activities, transportation, and school routines Serving as a health resource for school staff and assisting with health-related needs as appropriate Program Details Primary responsibility is supporting one elementary-aged student with complex pulmonary needs who is tracheostomy and ventilator dependent.
The classroom serves students with cognitive impairments, requiring collaboration with educational staff and occasional support with redirection strategies to help maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
