The Certified Pastoral Care Professional provides spiritual and emotional support and counseling to patients, families, and staff. They are integrated with patient care and family support services throughout OSF HealthCare.
Candidates must have a Master's degree in a relevant field and three years of pastoral care experience in a healthcare setting. Board certification and a valid state driver's license are also required.
The Certified Pastoral Care Professional - HC is an integral part of a Pastoral Care team that embraces a model of care for the whole person – body, mind and spirit. Directed to the spiritual dimensions of the human person that are often appreciated more deeply during times of illness, pastoral care is an integral part of the patient care team. Certified Pastoral Care Professionals are effectively integrated with patient care and family support services on patient care throughout OSF. The Certified Pastoral Care Professional is the spiritual care specialist and provides spiritual and emotional support and counseling to patients, families, and staff in accordance with OSF policy, mission and objectives.
Education: Master's degree from an accredited college, university, seminary or divinity school in theology, divinity, religious studies, pastoral ministry, pastoral studies, or spirituality, or related field of study.
Experience: Five years’ pastoral care experience in a healthcare setting. One year experience with palliative care or hospice. Licensure/ Certification: Advance Practice Certifications. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
