Training Counselor/Direct Support Professional

The training counselor works hands-On with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build skills, express themselves, and achieve greater independence, often facilitating participation in community programs and neighborhood integration. Essential duties include serving as an interdisciplinary team member, applying behavior plans, supporting community access, and responding to medical and behavioral emergencies.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma, with a bachelor's degree preferred, and hold a valid driver's license. Preferred qualifications include six months of experience working with the i/Dd population and registration on the illinois health care worker registry as a dsp.
