Substitute Teacher

The substitute teacher implements developmentally appropriate activities aligned with head start standards to provide temporary classroom support, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment. Responsibilities include supervising children, assisting with daily routines, maintaining safety, and supporting positive child development in collaboration with staff.

Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma or ged equivalent and a willingness to complete head start-Mandated training. Preferred qualifications include a child development associate (Cda) or coursework in early childhood education, along with prior experience in a head start or preschool setting.
