Summer Discover the Outdoors Rec Leader

Outdoor recreation leaders instruct and lead activities following a prescribed curriculum, interacting with youth, facilitating activities, and supervising aspects of recreation programs in fun outdoor settings. Duties include leading activities like hiking and water sports, ensuring participant safety, providing leadership to volunteers, and adapting activities to meet individual needs.

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old and currently attending high school, along with some previous related work, training, certification, or volunteer experience. Successful candidates need strong knowledge of recreation planning and youth development principles, along with the ability to plan, lead, instruct, and adapt activities effectively.
