The Support Teacher provides instructional assistance, supervises students in various school settings, and maintains a safe, organized environment. Responsibilities include teaching assigned classes, mentoring students in extracurricular activities, and managing student behavior.
A bachelor's degree and experience working with students in an educational setting are preferred. Candidates must possess strong classroom management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.
Provide instructional support and teach assigned classes as needed. Attend and actively participate in weekly collaboration meetings with colleagues and administration. Supervise assigned advisory classes, providing guidance and support to students. Record and maintain accurate student attendance records. Monitor student activity and behavior in hallways to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Mentor and supervise students participating in clubs and extracurricular activities. Assist in the coordination, facilitation, and/or participation of school events and student programs, including extracurricular activities. Supervise breakfast and lunch periods, student dismissals, and in-school suspension (ISS), as assigned. Support the cleanliness and organization of classrooms and ensure that classrooms are left clean and tidy at the end of each school day. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by BuffSci in a competent, professional, and faithful manner.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families. Commitment to maintaining a positive, respectful, and professional school culture. Work Environment & Expectations: Professional dress is required at all times. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing school needs.
