Entry Level Autism Support Staff

The entry level autism worker implements service plan interventions and provides direct training and support to children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder to enhance their daily living skills. Duties also include developing recreational opportunities, assisting families with benefit applications, maintaining records, acting as an advocate, and providing crisis intervention when needed.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, and experience may substitute for academic training in some cases. Candidates must obtain cpr and first aid certification within two weeks of hire and safety care certification within 90 days.
