Core responsibilities
The youth care worker implements daily therapeutic programming for youth under supervision, engaging them in interactions and skill-Building activities consistent with individualized treatment goals and the care principles. Responsibilities include ensuring safety through positive relationships, understanding trauma, using tci de-Escalation techniques, and conducting manual restraints when necessary, followed by life space interviews.
Requirements summary
Candidates must be able to learn and implement the care practice model and successfully complete and maintain certification in therapeutic crisis intervention (Tci), including passing physical restraint tests. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and meet dcfs/Cants clearance requirements; a high school diploma or ged is required, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
