The teacher is responsible for organizing and implementing classroom programming for students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and/Or emotional disturbance, including developing individualized academic programming and tracking progress toward iep goals. Key duties involve writing ieps, attending committee meetings, assisting with fbas/Bips, and supervising classroom staff.

Requirements summary

Candidates must possess new york state teacher certification in special education and must have a minimum of one year of experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and/Or emotional disturbance. A master's degree is preferred, and clearance from the new york state justice center is mandatory.
