Physical Education Teacher (Hempstead)

The physical education teacher will be the primary educator responsible for developing and implementing engaging physical education lesson plans adapted for students on the autism spectrum, aligned with their individualized education programs (Ieps). Key duties include promoting physical fitness, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment, collaborating with staff, and maintaining detailed session notes and progress documentation.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in physical education, special education, or a related field, along with the required ny state physical education teaching certification. Experience working with students with autism and familiarity with adaptive physical education techniques are strongly preferred, as is cpi training.
