- Job Summary The K–8 Substitute Teacher provides temporary instructional and classroom supervision services in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
- The substitute maintains a safe, orderly, faith-centered, and productive learning environment while supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.Job Responsibilities Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular classroom teacher Provide classroom instruction and supervision for students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade Maintain a positive, respectful, and orderly classroom environment Supervise students throughout the school day, including classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and dismissal as assigned Encourage student engagement and appropriate behavior consistent with school policies Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration Leave notes regarding classroom activities, student behavior, and completed assignments for the regular teacher Uphold classroom routines, school procedures, and academic expectations Model Christian values, professionalism, kindness, and respect in all interactions Participate respectfully in school prayer, liturgies, and Catholic traditions as appropriate Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters Follow all diocesan, school, health, safety, and child protection policies and procedu Job Requirements High school diploma required; college coursework or teaching experience preferred Substitute teaching permit or state certification as required by state or diocesan policy Experience working with children or in educational settings preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt quickly to different grade levels and classroom environments Commitment to supporting the mission and philosophy of Catholic education Completion of required background checks and safe environment training The Archdiocese of St.
